"Youghal Glass' wealth of knowledge in relation to insulation, glazing and heat and light management was a definite bonus for us."
Mr. & Mrs. O'Laoire, Wicklow
Windows and doors play a major role in the energy consumption of a house. It is, therefore, vital to select windows and doors that will ensure your home is a low energy building. A low energy building requires maximum air tightness to minimise its energy consumption.
The frames on all our windows and doors are designed to limit the loss of energy in the joints between the glass and the frame.

All our timber windows are double-glazed using thermally insulating glass to provide an extremely low U-value. The U-value is further reduced by filling the double glazed unit cavity with argon gas. Low conductivity spacer bars are also used to reduce heat loss at the edges. The result is a 1.0 W/m2K centre pane u-value which results in a 45% increase in energy efficiency compared to standard double glazing units.
Our windows and doors are fully blower door tested, a test performed to measure the level of air tightness in a building.
